What does it do?

FTBasic is a CAT control program for the Yaesu FT-100 (including the D model), FT-817, FT-847, FT-857, FT-857D, FT-897, FT-897D, FT-920 and FT-1000MP Mark V, and the VR-5000 and FRG-100 receivers.

Memory management of the VR-5000's 2000 memories is performed in a separate program called FTBVR5K V2.

FTBasic features:

  • Support for the Yaesu FT-100, FT-817, FT-847, FT-857, FT-857D, FT-897, FT-897D, FT-920, FT-1000MP Mark V, VR-5000 and FRG-100
  • Have multiple configurations for the same rig
  • Manage the FT-817's, FT-857's, FT-857D's, FT-897 and FT-897D's 200, and FT-847's 78 standard memories
  • Export/Import the FT-817's, FT-847's, FT-857's, FT-857's, FT-897's and FT-897D's memories in CSV file format
  • Import frequencies from various Kenwood VHF/UHF rigs - TH-G71, TH-D7A, TH-D7A(G), TM-D700
  • Import ARRL TravelPlus Repeater Frequencies
  • TX/RX switching
  • Record, save and playback WAV files of QSOs
  • Option to record only when the squelch is lifted - great for monitoring
  • Show final frequency when using a transverter
  • User customisable button faces for bands and memory banks
  • 6 banks of 12 memories
  • Tuning by keyboard arrow keys and mouse dragging
  • Frequency spectrum display with start, step and width; pause and resume.
  • Supports CTCSS tones for scanning and manually defined memories
  • Supports +/- repeater shift and magnitude definition for scanning and manually defined memories
  • 20 different ranges of frequencies to scan
  • Ability to scan a frequency range, the memory grid or a memory bank
  • A large resizable memory grid with sorting and editing capabilities
  • Stop on Busy, Free or None when scanning
  • Variable hang time when scan stopped
  • Hold/release scanning
  • Variable scan rate
  • 30 QMB frequency memories you can 'note' and return to (no CTCSS capability for QMB frequencies)
  • Go To a typed in frequency, and optionally switch mode at the same time
  • Support for all CAT speeds on each rig
  • COM1- 8 user selectable
  • Display UTC realtime clock
  • Indicators for RX, TX, Discriminator, Squelch and DCS match status
  • Selectable window sizes dependant on screen resolution:
     640 x 480:   1 size
    800 x 600:   2 sizes
    higher         3 sizes

For the FT-817, FT-847, FT-857, FT-857D, FT897 and FT-897D only the program can use these rigs' Clone facility to read and restore memories. The VR-5000's memories are managed by the separate program FTBVR5K V2.

This facility can be used to keep a backup of the rig's memories and configuration which can be reloaded in the event of a Reset All being required.

The memories can be edited to your requirements and reloaded back into the rig.

These memory specifications can be exported and re-imported in Comma Separated Variable (CSV) format. Using these CSV files you can transfer memories from one rig to another.
