PC equipment and software requirements

The program runs on a standard PC that has an available COM port for connection to the radio.  The COM port may be a conventional Serial port or a USB serial port.

It has been developed and tested on Windows 2000 Professional,  Windows XP Home, Windows XP Pro and Windows Vista Business 32 bit, and should also run successfully on Windows 95/98/ME and Windows/NT4.

A minimum screen resolution of 800 x 600 is required, but 1024 x 768 or above is recommended. Font scaling of 96dpi (standard) and 120dpi (large) are supported; some custom sizes may give rise to problems displaying the grids.

The program will detect the international character used for the decimal point and format numbers accordingly.

The FT-847 requires a standard 'Null modem' cable with a female 9-pin connector at the radio end.  The other rigs require a level converter - usually a Yaesu CT-62. Refer to your handbook for the correct cabling, and here for further connection details.
