Removing unwanted audio spikes

If you have an electrically noisy environment and suffer from spikes appearing on the plot you can attempt to clear them by clicking on the 'De-Spike' button.  The program scans all of the readings looking for sudden changes of input level.  If the change of input level between two consecutive readings exceeds the 'Audio spike trigger level' then the 'out of character' reading is replaced with the value of the immediately preceding reading plus the difference between that reading and its immediate predecessor.  Thus, if the preceding trend in level was increasing then a higher reading will be substituted, and the reverse is done if the trend was descending.

This 'cleanup' process is mostly successful unless you have a sequence of rapidly changing readings.

The value for the 'Audio spike trigger level' is changed from the Settings screen which is shown after you double-click on the plot.
